Content
Description
The museum features about half a million kinds of fabrics, including samples of homespun cloths. The collection is based on the materials of the manufacturer and philanthropist Dmitry Burylin .
The museum opened on the Day of Workers in the Light and Textile Industry on June 9, 1987. The museum was attended by 122 enterprises of the Ivanovo region [1] .
In May 2013, during the “ Museum Night ” campaign, a life-size rhinoceros made of chintz was installed next to the museum building.
Museum Buildings
The museum is located in the Burylin mansion, built in the Art Nouveau style (architect Alexander Snurilov ), which has a complex layout, stained glass windows and decor . The exhibition hall and the museum library are located in the courtyard of the mansion, in the building of a carriage shed.
