Gang Creation

Gennady Petrovich Shpet was born on March 15, 1959 in Kemerovo . He graduated from high school, vocational school, served in the army. Shpet arrived in Novosibirsk in 1990 and for some time worked as a train engineer. Then he tried to organize a trading business. To do this, he sold his apartment, bought his mother a house in Bolotnoy, and purchased the goods with the remaining funds. For 3 years of commercial activity Shpet did not earn a lot of money, but he owed 56 thousand dollars. After that, Shpet decided to create a gang. In a short time, he gathered several unemployed - Oleg Chernyavsky, Vitaly Akulich, Evgeni Kudienko, Nikolai Antonov and repeatedly convicted Alexander Kozodoy. Shpet also acquired three makeshift revolvers, eight grenades and a gas pistol.

Gang Crimes

Shpet, who worked in the Novosibirsk clothing market, found out about entrepreneurs who were subsequently attacked by bandits. In April 1997, Shpet, Chernyavsky and Kozoda stopped the Volga car and asked the driver to take them to a garden society located outside the city. Upon reaching the place, Shpet grabbed a gun and shot at the driver's head. The bandits buried the body in the forest. Then they installed a flashing light on the car, put on a camouflage police uniform, black knitted hats and drove to the Novosibirsk-Leninsk-Kuznetsk highway. On the highway, one of the bandits with the help of a police baton stopped a bus in which shuttle traders rode. Masked Shpet, Chernyavsky and Kozoda burst into the bus and, threatening the driver with weapons, ordered him to move onto a country road and stop. Then, bypassing the bus’s interior, the bandits robbed the passengers, ordered the driver not to budge for half an hour and left in their car, which they then threw on one of the streets of Novosibirsk.

After 2 weeks, two bandits attacked a woman entrepreneur in Novosibirsk. That morning, the entrepreneur had to go to Moscow to get the goods; she had with her a large sum of money. When she left the porch and was heading to the car around the corner, the bandits waiting for her tried to snatch her bag. The woman burst out and ran, and then one of the bandits shot into the air. Hearing the shot, the woman’s brother, who was waiting for her in the car, rushed to the scene, taking his gas pistol on the go. At this time, Shpet hit the woman, and another thug pulled out a bag of money from her. The woman's brother began to shoot at the escaping bandits, but they safely disappeared.

The gang committed the next crime in the city of Bolotnoye, Novosibirsk Region. Shpet and another bandit broke into a private house. Having shot for intimidation on the TV, Shpet demanded from the owner of Komissarov’s house the money he earned from selling the car. He obeyed, but the bandits decided that this was not enough for them. Leaving the Komissarov family hostage, the bandits ordered him to find more money within a few minutes. Komissarov borrowed money from a neighbor and gave it to the bandits, who took something else from things and disappeared.

Soon the bandits attacked the house of merchants in the district center of Toguchin . They arrived there at night, equipped an observation post in an unfinished bathhouse at a neighboring site, and waited for the merchants to leave, after which they killed a dog in the yard and broke into the house. The girl there was given to the raiders money and a collection of gold coins.

Then the bandits began to commit robberies in Novosibirsk and the region every week, and sometimes twice a week. Their victims were more than ten entrepreneurs.

Early in the morning of October 11, 1997, at the entrance of one of the houses of Novosibirsk, bandits kept watch for businessman Akhmadov, who was going to go to the clothing market with a batch of stationery. When the businessman went down the stairs with boxes of goods in his hands, the bandits stopped him and ordered them to be taken to the apartment. But Akhmadov threw boxes at them and tried to run upstairs. Shpet shot him several times, the wounded Akhmadov fell. The bandits fled, Akhmadov was taken to the hospital, but soon died.

In the evening of October 23, in the village of Balta, Moshkovsky District, bandits attacked the family of Alexander Gibert. Gibert went to the dog barking, saw Shpet in a black mask and tried to hide in the house. Shpet shot him twice through the door, followed him and finished off the wounded. Then the raiders forced the wife of the victim to open the safe, after which she was tied up and locked with the two children in the bathroom.

The next victim of the gang was Novosibirsk businessman Vladimir Ardyshev, who had several outlets. In the evening, on the eve of the murder, Ardyshev drove along them and collected the proceeds. Apparently, the bandits were tracking him, finding out where it is best to attack, after which they robbed and killed.

On March 17, 1998, gangsters committed a double murder in Novosibirsk. On that day, entrepreneurs - husband and wife Albrecht - returned from the clothing market, they had about 45 thousand rubles of revenue with them. Shpet killed both, the second bandit tore off the money bag from the neck of the murdered woman. After that, the killers left the scene by car.

After a double murder, Kozoda went out of the gang. He independently made several attacks on roadside stalls, a village shop, and two gas stations. After the attacks, he fled to the nearest forest. At the last crime, he injured a gas station employee.

After another robbery committed by Kozodoy, the entire district was blocked by the police. One of the PPS crews who patrolled the area assigned to him noticed Kozodoy with a large sports bag passing through the forest near the scene of the incident. Kozoda was detained, in his belongings, in addition to stolen goods, a revolver and a mask were discovered. During interrogations, he did not betray the rest of the bandits.

The gang of Shpet tried to attack the house of entrepreneurs - the Teymurov brothers. It so happened that when they approached the door, a business partner of the Teymurov Brewers rode up to the house. Seeing three people who took positions at the entrance to the house, Pivovarov began to give signals with a horn, trying to warn Teymurovs. Shpet went to the car and started shooting at him. Three bullets pierced the windshield, the Brewers were injured before leaving the yard. At this time, one of the Teymurov brothers, attracted by the noise, went out on the threshold with a gun in his hands. Two bandits fled, but Shpet remained and began to shoot at Teymurov. He managed to bounce out the door. Having shot all the cartridges, Shpet disappeared. Teymurov rushed after him, but the bandits had already left by car.

The gang committed several more robberies, this time against criminals and drug dealers. The bandits dressed in camouflage and masks presented themselves as police and conducted a “search”. They locked their victims in the underground.

In February 1999, bandits killed businessman Ivan Oprish. On that day, he and two other Romanian entrepreneurs were going to go to Moscow for goods. When a minibus stopped at the entrance at the appointed time, Oprish left the apartment. Shpet killed him on the stairs. When the bandits escaped, the leader tried to kill the witness - the driver of the minibus, but missed.

Investigation and Arrests

The entire police of Novosibirsk participated in the search for a dangerous gang. Dozens of thieves, stolen merchants, drug dealers, landlords and other criminals were detained.

In March 1998, investigators entered the gang of the Simonov brothers. In the hands of the police were 8 people who committed thefts and robberies against businessmen. In addition, a homemade pistol was seized from the suspects. According to the examination, it was he who was used in most murders. The Simonovs did not confess to the killings, they said that they bought a gun from a certain Nikitin. Soon the investigators themselves realized that this gang was not behind the killings.

The police went to Viktor Nikitin, who was engaged in the manufacture and sale of weapons. By this time he was already detained for making weapons and was in jail. It was from Nikitin that the investigators learned that back in 1997 a certain person named Vasily bought a gun from a gunsmith. Soon, however, the buyer returned to Nikitin and asked to exchange the gun for another. Vasily explained his desire by saying that he didn’t like the weapon, and besides, it was used to kill. Vasily asked for the first pistol to be destroyed. But instead, the master dismantled the weapon and installed the barrel on a new gun, which later went to the Simon brothers. According to the description of Vasily, the police realized that this was the leader of the elusive gang.

Shpet's gang managed to commit another crime. This time, their victim was a driver-forwarding agent of one of the private enterprises, who collected the proceeds from the company's retail outlets and drove to his office in his mini-truck. When he turned onto a secondary road, one of the bandits appeared in front of the car, dressed as a bum and carrying a bundle of firewood on his shoulder. The driver slowed down, Shpet in a mask jumped up to the car, pointed a revolver at him and demanded to open the door. "Homeless" threw the bundle and also put on a mask. The driver abruptly backed up, Shpet shot him, but didn’t hit him, and then shot three more times in pursuit of the leaving car. The driver was injured, but managed to escape and, having reached the nearest tire service, called an ambulance and police.

For a long time, police officers conducted operational work in the Novosibirsk clothing market. Once they received information about a merchant who periodically appeared on the market, then disappeared. It was Gennady Shpet. Three police officers arrived at his house and rang the doorbell, Shpet opened them and was detained. As the leader of the gang later said, he was ready for everything, even for an armed clash with the police, but not for the fact that he would be arrested so easily.

At the detainee’s apartment, police officers found three makeshift pistols, two grenades, a device for silent shooting, about 200 rounds of ammunition, a radio station, and the uniform of police officers. On the same night, Gennady Shpet surrendered his accomplices. Chernyavsky and Akulich were detained, convicted Kozoda, who took part in at least 20 robberies, was returned from the stage to Novosibirsk.

Court

The gang committed 7 murders, 4 assassination attempts and 45 robberies. At the trial, Shpet behaved defiantly, realizing that he would not be able to avoid capital punishment. And so it happened: in October 2001, Shpet was sentenced to life imprisonment, Alexander Kozodoy - to 23 years of imprisonment, Oleg Chernyavsky - to 18 and a half years, Vitaly Akulich - to 18. All of them had their property confiscated. Nikolai Antonov was given 5 years probation - such a verdict was issued to him for failure to report crimes committed. Evgeni Kudienko was sentenced in absentia to 10 years - at that time he was hiding from the investigation and was put on the All-Russian wanted list. Shpet was transferred to IK-6 " Black Dolphin " in the Orenburg region .
