Biography
Ivan Zibrov was born on October 27, 1917 in the village of Tambovka (now the Kharabalinsky District of the Astrakhan Region ). He graduated from the three courses of the Astrakhan cooperative college. In 1939, Zibrov was called up to serve in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . From August 1941 - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. He participated in the battles of Voronezh , the Battle of Kursk . By September 1943, Sergeant Ivan Zibrov commanded the detachment of a communications company of the 574th Infantry Regiment of the 121st Infantry Division of the 60th Army of the Central Front . Distinguished during the battle for the Dnieper [1] .
On September 28, 1943, the Zibrova branch was one of the first to cross the Dnieper near the village of Glebovka, Kiev region of the Ukrainian SSR, and laid a cable. During the fighting on the bridgehead on the west bank of the Dnieper, Zibrov and his department personally participated in repelling German counterattacks, correcting damage on the line, ensuring uninterrupted communication between the headquarters and units on the west coast [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 17, 1943, sergeant Ivan Zibrov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal number 3530 for “courage and heroism shown in crossing the Dnieper River” [1] .
After the war, Zibrov continued to serve in the Soviet Army. In 1945 he graduated from the Murom Military School of Communications. In 1952, in the rank of Major Zibrov was dismissed. He lived in Astrakhan , worked in private security . He died on November 21, 2002 [1] .
He was also awarded the Order of the Patriotic War , 1st degree and two Orders of the Red Star , along with a number of medals [1] .
