About the album

Loose Ends is the fourth posthumous album by Jimi Hendrix, and only the eighth in a row, released in 1974 in the United Kingdom by Polydor. It was not published in the USA (at least in those times, on vinyl). The album is made up of studio work recordings and jams made by Jimi at his Electric Lady studio, as well as at Record Plant , mainly in 1970, but some things were recorded in the 1960s. At Loose Ends, they tried to recreate the lively atmosphere of studio work, Hendrix's comments and cues, his negotiations with the producer sitting in the hardware room. The record vividly testifies to the magnitude of Hendrix’s guitar genius and gives an idea of who the music world has lost.

Loose Ends was produced by John Jansen and Hendrix's favorite sound engineer Eddie Kramer. Jansen did not want his name on the credits of the album and used the pseudonym Alex Trevor. One song - “The Stars That Play with Laughing Sam's Dice” was produced by Hendricks himself, it was released back in 1967 on the back of the single “Burning of the Midnight Lamp”, and then in Smash Hits (1968). But they were all mono or pseudo-stereo versions, and only in Loose Ends it was mixed in stereo.
