Bogolepov, Alexander Alexandrovich (dermatovenerologist)

Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Bogolepov ( October 10, 1874 - January 15, 1941 , Novosibirsk ) - Russian Soviet dermatovenerologist. Head of the Department of Dermatovenereology of Tomsk University (1921-1931), the first head of the Department of Dermatovenereology of the Novosibirsk Medical Institute (1936-1941).

Biography

Alexander Alexandrovich Bogolepov was born in 1874 .

In 1902 he graduated from Tomsk Imperial University .

From 1903 to 1911 he worked as a laboratory assistant at the University Clinic for Skin and Sexually Transmitted Diseases, headed by the famous syphilologist E. S. Obraztsov . Since 1911, he served as an assistant clinic.

In 1907 he was on a business trip in Paris and Hamburg . He worked in the Paris hospital of St. Louis , got acquainted with the laboratory of the German dermatologist Paul Gerson Unna .

In 1921 he received the title of privat-docent and became the head of the Department of Dermatovenereology of Tomsk University [1] .

In 1926, Bogolepov received the title of professor . From the same year, he simultaneously heads the Department of Dermatovenerology at the established Siberian Institute for Advanced Medical Studies.

In 1931, the Institute of Improvement was transferred to Novosibirsk . Bogolepov moved together with the institute, continuing to head the department of the now Novosibirsk GIDUV.

From 1936 until the end of his life, he headed the Department of Dermatovenereology of the Novosibirsk Medical Institute .

For many years he was co-editor of the journals Venereology and Dermatology, Russian Bulletin of Dermatology, Soviet Bulletin of Dermatology, Siberian Medical Archive.

He was the permanent chairman of the Society of Dermatovenerologists in Tomsk , and then in Novosibirsk [1] .

Among the students of Professor Bogolepov, a prominent Soviet mycologist, Professor A. N. Araviysky, V. Ya. Nekachalov, E. S. Sorokin, M. I. Khasin, L. V. Shtamova, E. N. Lesnikov, who headed the department of skin in subsequent years and sexually transmitted diseases in Leningrad , Omsk , Novokuznetsk [2] .

He is the author of more than 50 scientific papers on the connection of bacteria with filamentous fungi, on the endogenous occurrence of fungal diseases, on the role of the filtered stage of the pathogen in fungal diseases, on the relationship of some fungal diseases, in particular thrush, with tuberculosis. He described several types of parasitic fungi of the human body, he dealt a lot with the issues of intraspecific variability of infectious disease pathogens.

The fungi Tilachlidium bogolepoffii, Monilia bogolepoffii, Geotrichum bogolepoffii, Mycoderma bogolepoffii, Cephalosporium bogolepoffii, Hyalopus bogolepoffii [3] [4] are named after A. A. Bogolepov.

Honored Scientist of the RSFSR ( 1941 ) [3] .

Corresponding Member of the French Dermatological Society. Honorary Professor of NSMU [5] .

He died on December 31, 1947 . He was buried at the Zaeltsovsky cemetery in Novosibirsk , section 37. [6]

In 2005, the Siberian Association of Dermatovenerologists established the annual Bogolepov Prize to perpetuate the memory of an outstanding scientist [7] .
