Geographic data
Located in the eastern part of the district.
The highway A114 Novaya Ladoga - Vologda passes through the territory of the settlement.
The distance from the administrative center of the settlement to the district center is 45 km [3] .
The settlement area is 479.5 km².
History
In March 1918, the center of the Hamontov volost of the Novoladozh district was moved to the village of Kolchanovo , and the volost was renamed Kolchanovskaya . In August 1927, the Kolchanovo volost was abolished, all village councils became part of the newly formed Volkhov district of the Leningrad region . In November 1928, the Budaevshchinsky, Khamontovsky and Yakhnovsky village councils were merged into the Kolchanovsky village council . From March 20, 1946 to February 1, 1963, the village council was part of the Novoladozhsky district . On June 16, 1954, the Yezhevsky Village Council was attached to the Kolchanovsky Village Council [4] .
On January 18, 1994, the resolution of the head of the administration of the Leningrad region No. 10 “On changes in the administrative-territorial structure of the districts of the Leningrad region”, the Kolchanovsky village council , like all other village councils of the region, was transformed into Kolchanovo volost [5] .
On January 1, 2006, in accordance with the regional law No. 56-oz dated September 6, 2004 “On establishing borders and granting the appropriate status to the municipal formation of the Volkhov municipal district and municipal entities in its composition”, the Kolchanovo rural settlement was formed , which included the territory of the former Kolchanovo volost [6] .
