History
In 1927, theater courses were opened by the actor and director of the Latvian National Theater, Ernest Feldmanis . The duration of classes, depending on the preparedness of the students, ranged from 2 to 3 years. The training was based on the traditions of the Russian theater school and the Stanislavsky system .
An important place was given to exercises in plastic and rhythm. Disciples new to the Latvian stage pedagogy of that time were studied: the process of acting, psychology, classical dance.
Acting skills were taught by E. Feldmanis, A. Amtmatis-Beneditis and J. Zarins. Teachers worked O. Bormane, J. Endzelis, F. Ertner, K. Freinbergs, T. Latsis, J. Simsons. Among the most notable students: A. Abele, E. Berzin, E. Ferd , I. Live, J. Catlaps, C. Sebris , H. Avens , O. Crumina , J. Grantins .
In 1935, the Feldmanis courses joined the Latvian Drama Courses of Zeltmatis [1] .
