Youth newspaper is a socio-political youth newspaper of the Republic of Bashkortostan. It is published in Ufa once a week, on Thursdays, in Russian. It illuminates the socio-political, economic, socio-cultural and sports life of youth.

Newspaper History

Youth newspaper is one of the oldest republican publications.

January 12, 1923, the first issue of the regularly published youth newspaper of Bashkortostan “Yash Yuksyl” (“Young Proletariat”), an organ of the Bashkir Regional Committee of the RKSM [1] , was published.

The first issue was opened by the editorial “Our Newspaper!”, In which the Regional Committee of the Komsomol congratulated young people on the start of publishing a regular newspaper. The editorial said that the body of the Komsomol regional committee “Yash Yuksyl” aims to inform readers about the events taking place in the republic, the country and abroad. Departments of religion and communism, literature, science and technology, agriculture, and news were created. The first issue published an article “The Red Fleet and Youth”.

At that time, the circulation of the newspaper was 1,000 copies; it was published once a week. The editorial board of the newspaper included Abdrakhman Abdrakhmanov (Bulat Ishemgulov), Gubai Kushaev and Daut Yultiy .

In 1925, at the direction of the Komsomol Central Committee, the Komsomol newspaper in the Bashkir language Bashkortostan Yestare (Youth of Bashkortostan), the first issue of which was published on March 27 on four pages, began to be published in the republic. In 1926, Gabdulla Amantai became the chief editor of Bashkortostan Yestare, and Sagit Agish , executive secretary. Gainan Khairi , Imai Nasyri , Tukhvat Yanabi , A. Erkei, Ali Karnay , M. Khai , Hanif Karim , Batyr Valid and others actively wrote to newspapers in those years. In 1929, a literary page appeared in the newspaper. [2]

Since 1930, the newspaper began to be published under the name Yash Communard (Young Communard).

With the outbreak of World War II, the activities of the newspaper’s editorial office were suspended.

In February 1951, the publication of a newspaper for youth was resumed in Ufa, but under the name Leninets (Lenins) in Russian and Bashkir languages. It came out in a small format, and since 1957 - in a large format. The circulation of "Leninets" in the first year amounted to 10 thousand copies in Russian and 5.3 thousand in Bashkir, and six years later the total number of subscribers reached 66 thousand.

At the beginning of 1956, Remel Dashkin became the editor. Mustai Karim , Gaynan Amiri , Yakub Kulmiy , Anver Bikchentaev , Bulat Rafikov , Rais Nizamov , Gazim Shafikov , Marcel Gafurov , Ramil Khakimov and other famous writers and poets were published in the Leninets of these years.

By the end of the 80s, the circulation of the newspaper reached 160-170 thousand copies. The editor-in-chief during these years was Marat Abuzarov, journalists - Dmitry Efremov, Evgeny Vorobyov, Ayrat Enikeev, Florit Shakirov, Elsa Khoreva.

In January 1990, two independent newspaper offices were created on its basis: Leninets in Russian and Yashlek in Bashkir. Their founder was the Cabinet of Ministers of Bashkortostan . According to 1995, it was published in a circulation of 48 thousand copies.

In January 1996, the newspaper was renamed and has since been published under the name “Youth Newspaper”.

  • at the All Russia Media Festival, among the children's and youth publications of the country, the newspaper was awarded a diploma for second place;
