Biography
Descended from the Polish noble family Gutakovsky coat of arms Gutag . Born in Keragolishki, in Trok Province . The son of under Vitebsk Benedict Gutakovsky and Euphrosyne Wilgerd. Initially, Ludwik Shimon Gutakovsky studied at the Catholic Public School in Schuchin , then at Warsaw University. He continued his education in Paris .
In 1762, Ludwik Gutakovsky was appointed in Dresden as a chamberlain at the court of the Polish king and Elector of Augustus III of Saxony. In 1764, he supported the election of Stanislav Ponyatovsky to the Polish throne. In 1771 he traveled with diplomatic missions to London and St. Petersburg .
In 1778, Ludvik Shimon Gutakovsky was appointed chancellor to the Permanent Council , and headed the police department. In 1780, he was elected to the Grand Duchy of Lithuania Tribunal. In 1780 he became a knight of the Order of St. Stanislav.
In 1781 he became a member of the Grodno Masonic Lodge, since 1786 was the governor-general of the Masonic Lodge on the territory of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
In 1788, Ludvik Gutakovsky was elected ambassador from the Orsha region to the Four-year Sejm . He was a supporter of the "royal" party, supported the adoption of a new constitution on May 3, 1791 .
On August 5, 1791, he received the position of the great Lithuanian sub-commerce and was awarded the Order of the White Eagle. Entered the Eduction Commission . In 1792, after the victory of the Targowitz Confederation, he left Warsaw.
In 1794, Ludwik Shimon Gutakovsky returned to Warsaw, in the midst of an uprising led by Lieutenant General Tadeusz Kosciuszko . Initially, he criticized Kollontay and other leaders of the uprising, then supported the rebels and in October became part of the Highest National Rada. He transferred all his money to support the rebels. During the siege of the Russian army of Warsaw took care of the sick and wounded.
In 1795 he sold all his lands in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and moved to Poland, where he acquired the estates of Horus and the New Courtyard near Warsaw .
In 1806, Ludwik Shimon Gutakovsky, as the eldest of the deputies of the four-year Seym, participated in the solemn meeting of the French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte , who entered Warsaw. In 1807 - 1808 - Chairman of the Ruling Council (Provisional Government), in 1807 - 1808 - Chairman of the Council of Ministers, in 1810 - 1811 - Chairman of the Senate of the Duchy of Warsaw .
On December 1, 1811, the 73-year-old Polish politician Ludwik Shimon Gutakovsky died in Warsaw and was buried in the church of the Three Crosses.
Family
Ludwik Shimon Gutakovsky was married twice. In 1787, he married Teresa Sobolevsky (died 1790 ), the eldest daughter of castellan and the Warsaw governor Macey Leon Sobolevsky ( 1724 - 1804 ) and Eva Shydlovetskaya. Children:
- daughter Gabriel (died 1871 ), married to a cousin Heinrich Casimir Zabello.
- son Vaclav ( 1790 - 1882 ), earl , officer of the French army and adjutant of the Russian Emperor Alexander I Pavlovich ; Married to Josephine Grudzinskaya, sister of Princess Lovich .
In 1799, he again married Marianne Sobolevskaya (1766–1843), Teresa’s younger sister, the widow of a great Lithuanian hunter, Józef Zabello (1750–1794). From May 13, 1830 - State Lady [1] . Prince Vyazemsky attributed Gutakovskaya to the number of those shelves that were attractive to him in their mind, education, and special feminine skill [2] .
