Confucius Peace Prizes ( Chinese 孔子 和平 獎 ) is a prize established in 2010 in the People's Republic of China (PRC) at the initiative of businessman Liu Zhiqin as a response to the Nobel Prize Liu Xiaobo . The chairman of the committee noted that the award was given for "promoting world peace from an Eastern perspective," and Confucian peace in particular. The winner receives a cash prize of ¥ 100,000 yuan ($ 15,000 USD ).
