Nikolai Alekseevich Maksimeiko ( Ukrainian Mikola Oleksiyovich Maksimeiko ; (5 (17) June 1860, p. Batsmany of Romny district , Poltava gubernia (now p. Voloshnivka , Romny district , Sumy region , Ukraine ) - April 14, 1941, Kiev) - Ukrainian and Soviet scientist, historian of law, Doctor of Law (1915), Professor (1914), Doctor of Law, Corresponding Member of the All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences (UAS) of the Ukrainian SSR (1925).

Biography

A graduate of the College of Paul Galagan . In 1892 he graduated from the Law Faculty of Kiev University of St. Vladimir .

From 1897 - assistant professor, from 1903 - an extraordinary professor, from 1905–1920 - professor, head of the Russian Law History Department of the Law Faculty of Kharkov University .

Member of the Kharkov Historical and Philological Society (1897), Kharkov Legal Society (1900). Doctor of Law History (1914).

In 1920-1924 - a scientific consultant to the codification department of the People's Commissariat of Justice, professor of the legal department at the Kharkov Institute of National Economy .

In 1924-1926 - Professor of the Geodesic and Land Management Institute in Kharkov.

In 1926—1934 - headed the section of the history of Ukrainian law of the Research Institute of Russian Culture. Academician D.I. Bagaley.

In 1925–1934, he was a member of the Commission for the Study of the History of Western Russian and Ukrainian Law of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR .

In the 1930s, he taught at the history department of Kharkov State. university . From April 1941 - Senior Researcher at the Institute of History of Ukraine, Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR .

Scientific Activities

Researcher of the history of law of Kievan Rus, Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania.

The works of N. Maksimeiko are devoted to the history of law, the history of Western Russian and Ukrainian law, the history of land relations and land management. Many studies of the scientist are devoted to the political system and the law of the Lithuanian-Russian state .

The historian made a significant contribution to the study of the Russian Truth .
