This was the group’s first film work, followed by over 25 soundtracks, the vast majority of which were written for films from the 1980s.

Feature

The ominous electronics of the trio became a source of inspiration for the director William Fridkin at the beginning of work on the film “The Witch Doctor”. According to the director himself, if he had known about the group before, he would have used her music in his film “ Exorcist ” [1]

This is without a doubt the best Tangerine Dream soundtrack. Using material similar to their previous works by Rubycon and Stratosfear (many sequencers , electronic arpeggiators for rhythmic support of melody, mellotron and analog synthesizers), the group wrote very dark and depressing music. The opening album “Main Title” throws the listener into a terrible adventure. Less experimental than the first, but causing no less trembling, the rest of the tracks create a long and epic journey into the unknown. Generally not as impressive as other works of Tangerine Dream , this record is nevertheless worthy of study. .

Recognition

In the UK album chart, Sorcerer reached 25th place and lasted there for 7 weeks [2] , taking third place in the UK in terms of total sales in the UK among all the albums of the group.
