Career
During his career, he played at two world championships , at which he won three gold ones. At the 1938 World Cup, he won two gold medals, in the relay and in the 18 km race. At the 1939 championship, he became the winner in the relay race.
Pitkianen died on the Soviet-Finnish front of World War II .
