Ratburi [1] [2] ( Thai. ราชบุรี ) is a city in the west of Thailand , the administrative center of the province of the same name .

Geographical position
The city is located in the eastern part of the province, on the banks of the river Mekhlong , at a distance of approximately 65 kilometers west-south-west of the capital city of Bangkok . The absolute height is 5 meters above sea level [3] .
Population
According to the 2000 census, the population of the city was 82,803 [4] .
Economy and Transport
Fluorite and tin are mined in the vicinity of Ratburi. Rice and vegetables are grown in the nearby fields. The city is also known for producing handmade glazed ceramics [5] . Ratburi communication with other cities is carried out by railway , river and road transport. The nearest civil airport is located in Photkharam , Ratburi Province [3] .
