The 1939 World Ski Championships were held from February 11 to 19, 1939 in Zakopane, Poland . The 1929 World Cup was already held here, while Zakopane became the second city to host the World Cup for the second time, after Lahti , in which the world championships of 1926 and 1938 were held . This championship was the last before a long break in their conduct due to the Second World War . In the team event, Finnish athletes excelled, having won 4 medals, of which 2 were gold.
