The population is 423 [1] people. (2010).
Until 2014, it was part of and was the center of the Urusovsky rural district (Ostrovka village, Urusovo village, Gribovka village) of the Ozerenskoye municipality. The administration of the Urusov village council was in the village of Ostrovka.
Agriculture
The production is represented by Venevskoye LLC and 3 other farms. Grow potatoes, cereals, corn; cattle breeding is also available.
Infrastructure
In the village are the House of Culture , a first-aid post, a shop, a post office . From the federal highway P132 Vyazma - Ryazan to Ostrovki an asphalt road with a length of 4 km was laid. Almost all the streets in the village are asphalted.
The distance to the district center of Venev by road is 24 km. The nearest settlements are Urusovo , on the highway 6 km, Gribovka - 5 km.
Also nearby, two kilometers away, is the tract of the former village of Teploye, which was liquidated in 1985.
