Scarborough (Ontario)

Scarborough ( Scarborough [ˈskɑrbəroʊ] ) is an area in the eastern part of the city of Toronto , Ontario , Canada . Includes the territory of the former city of Scarborough, a municipality that was merged with Toronto in 1998 . It borders Lake Ontario in the south, Victoria Park Avenue in the west, Stills Avenue in the north, and the Rouge River and Pickering in the east.

In 1954, Scarborough became part of the Toronto Metropolis as one of five districts, and in 1983 received city status.
