Sports Biography
In 1932, Herbert Wildman as part of the US team took part in the Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Wildman, like most players in the American team, represented the local Los Angeles Athletic Club . The first two matches were quite easy for the Americans. First, the Brazilians were defeated 6: 1, and then the Japanese national team 10: 0. In the third round of the US national team, the current Olympic champions were opposed by the German national team. Largely due to the excellent game of Wildman, the US team managed to play 4-4 with the Germans. In the final match, the Americans could not oppose the Hungarian national team and lost 0: 7. As a result of the tournament, the US team won bronze medals.
In 1936, at the Summer Olympic Games in Berlin, the American team was not able to perform as successfully as four years ago. The US national team with Wildman in the squad left already after the group stage, defeating the Uruguayan national team 2: 1, but losing to the Dutch water polo players 2: 3 and athletes from Belgium 3: 4.
After completing his sports career, Wildman became a businessman. Herbert was the owner of a repair shop and service station in Los Angeles.
Herbert Wildman died on October 13, 1989 in Los Angeles.
