Mikhail Afanasevich Zamulaev ( November 20, 1924 - June 28, 1944 ) - junior lieutenant of the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army , participant in the Great Patriotic War , Hero of the Soviet Union ( 1945 ).

Biography
Mikhail Zamulaev was born on November 20, 1924 in the village of Polyana (now Peremyshlsky district of the Kaluga region ). He graduated from seven classes of the school. In August 1942, Zamulaev was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. Since February 1943 - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. In 1944 he graduated from junior lieutenant courses, after which he commanded the rifle platoon of the 830th rifle regiment of the 238th rifle division of the 50th army of the 2nd Belorussian Front . He distinguished himself during the liberation of Mogilev [1] .
On June 27, 1944, Zamulaev crossed the Dnieper in the vicinity of the village of Lupolovo (now within the boundaries of the Oktyabrsky district of Mogilev ) and liberated the village of Nizhny Polovinny Log , and then captured a German stronghold on the western bank of the Dnieper. Chasing the retreating German troops, a platoon of Zamulaev went out to the outskirts of Mogilev. In that battle, Zamulaev died. He was buried in a mass grave on Lazarenko Street in Mogilev [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, for the "exemplary execution of the combat missions of command on the front of the struggle against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown at the same time," junior lieutenant Mikhail Zamulaev was posthumously awarded the high rank of Hero of the Soviet Union . He was also posthumously awarded the Order of Lenin [1] .
A school in his native village is named after Zamulaev [1] .
