Anatoly Shevchenko Antonovich ( September 29, 1938 - March 25, 2012 ) - Ukrainian guitarist, composer, musicologist, artist and poet. Winner of international composer competitions: in 1987 he won the II Prize at the International Competition "Guitarra Microcosmos" them. B. Bartok (Esztergom, Hungary), and in 1997 won the first prize at the International Competition of Composers. N. Rubinstein in Moscow. Since 1989, he has been a regular participant in guitar festivals in Spain. He performed with concerts in the republics of the former USSR, in Poland, Czechoslovakia, Spain, Germany, Hungary.

A. Shevchenko began his creative career as an artist. His paintings were exhibited at exhibitions in Prague, Linares, Jerez de la Frontera.
A. Shevchenko is known for his copyright programs. His repertoire included European music of the 13th — 20th centuries, seven centuries of ancient music, ethnographic forms, flamenco music (author's improvisations), his own compositions, numerous author transcriptions.
Biography
Anatoly Antonovich Shevchenko was born on September 29, 1938 in a village. Sentyanovka Slavyanoserbsk district Voroshilovgrad region, Ukrainian SSR .

From 1963 to 1982, in Simferopol , in addition to teaching, he was engaged in composing and performing activities (concerts in Moscow, Leningrad, Tbilisi, Vladivostok, Kiev, Kazan and other cities of the former Soviet Union, as well as in Poland). and other countries). A. Shevchenko worked intensively in the field of theory and practice of flamenco .
A. Shevchenko carried out many monographic and authorial concert programs of various styles, epochs and musical traditions - ancient Greek kifaristics , music of Spanish guitarists, lute music of England, France, Italy, Poland, baroque, classicism, modern avant-garde, flamenco music. As a performer, composer and musicologist worked a lot in the field of flamenco. The author of books on the history of flamenco art (in particular, the book “Flamenco Guitar: Melodies and Rhythms”, publishing house Muzichna Ukraina, 1988). The musician devoted many years of his life to Spanish culture: the author's program “Lorkada” was prepared for the 100th anniversary of the great Spanish poet Federico Garcia Lorca - as a result of getting used to the flamenco culture, to the world of the surrealistic reality Garcia Lorca.
A. Shevchenko owns an article about flamenco in the Polish Encyclopedia of Guitar. He published books, many scientific articles in different countries, and not only musicological (including the latest monograph “Music of Hellas”), but also cultural studies. The music of A. Shevchenko is included in the repertoire of many famous performers and is included in the programs of musical educational institutions. His works were published not only in Ukraine and Russia, but also in Poland, Germany, and the USA. His ballads were part of the repertoire of the national artist of Russia Elena Kamburova .
Since 1982, he has been an instrumental soloist of the Odessa Regional Philharmonic Society .
