Architecture of Modern Turkmenistan

The modern architecture of Turkmenistan embodies the legacy of previous years, in the newly erected buildings and structures are used "Muslim", "modernist" styles with the introduction of elements of "national" architecture. The buildings constructed in recent years are most often faced with white marble . Thanks to the policy of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, work is underway everywhere on the construction of new buildings and the overhaul of significant architectural objects in almost all cities of Turkmenistan. A targeted policy is being pursued to improve the appearance of the city of Ashgabat, new residential buildings and administrative buildings are being built, the facades of old architectural buildings are being restored, landscaping of the park and fountain zones of the city is being carried out. The architectural appearance of Ashgabat is rapidly changing, the city began to be built up pointwise with high-rise residential buildings (mainly 12-story). Ashgabat City business center is being formed on Archabil Avenue . For exclusive projects, the construction of buildings of several ministries and departments, educational and research and cultural centers has been completed. The line of administrative buildings and public areas along Archabil Avenue will be continued [2] . Among the new buildings, a number of buildings stand out: those built in the southern part of the capital, which became one of the symbols of the city , the Turkmenistan Broadcasting Center [3] , the wedding palace Bagt Koshgi [4] , and the largest Ferris wheel in the Alem indoor building [5] .
