History
After the course on specialization and cooperation of the national economy was taken at the XXI Congress of the CPSU of 1959, new workshops of the Melitopol Motor Plant began to be built in the area of modern Tymoshenko Square [1] .
In 1964, the complex of color foundries was separated into a separate enterprise - Avtotsvetlit [2] .
In 1966, the motor plant was allowed to design and build production halls and a factory office on the arable land of the Zarya collective farm, adjacent to the Avtotsvetlit plant, on an area of 25 hectares. [3]
The nameless square formed between the two plants was not a separate address facility for a long time, until in 1997 it was given the name in honor of the Hero of the Soviet Union (for the storming of Koenigsberg ), Colonel in the reserve Vladimir Timoshenko [4] .
