Organized the International Symposium on Dynamic Games, the All-Russian Symposium on Applied and Industrial Mathematics, the Scandinavian Symposium on Probability Theory, the Russian-Finnish Symposium on Discrete Mathematics, a series of Schools of Young Scientists “Mathematical Methods in Ecology”, International Working Meetings on Network Games and Optimal Stopping .
Scientific Activities
The main scientific results Mazalova V.V. relate to game theory and its applications. He studied a wide class of dynamic and evolutionary games arising in problems of the ecology of animal behavior and developed methods for finding equilibrium in such games. The proposed models make it possible to understand the evolution of a number of important aspects of animal behavior, such as migration, competition for resources, choice of a partner, and foraging. He developed a fundamentally new approach to managing biological populations based on the allocation of a protected area.
Proposed new game-theoretic methods in the tasks of analyzing the structure of information and communication systems. It is shown that to determine the centrality measures of the vertices and edges of the graph it is effective to use game-theoretic measures associated with this graph. The task of clustering networks is presented as a coalition game in which a Nash- stable coalition partition is sought. A new clustering method based on the methods of potential games has been developed. Different types of potentials are proposed, which lead to the construction of a stable coalition partition. It is shown that this potential method is equivalent to the maximum likelihood method if the network is modeled by a random graph . Developed game-theoretic models of telecommunications services markets: for the mobile communications market and for the cloud computing market.
Main publications
He is the author of over 150 scientific publications in Russian and international scientific journals [1] , including Doklady i Izvestiya Rossiiskoi Akademii Nauk, Probability Theory and Its Applications, Mathematical Modeling, Mathematical methods of operations research, and others, as well as the author of 7 monographs and textbooks, including “Mathematical Theory of Games and Applications” and “Negotiations.
