Biography

Born on April 25, 1922 in the village of Kremenki, Simbirsk district, Simbirsk province (now the Ulyanovsk district of the Ulyanovsk region ). He graduated from the 8th grade of the school. He worked as a turner at a factory in Ulyanovsk .

In the army since May 1941. In 1942 he graduated from junior lieutenant courses and battery commander courses.

Member of the Great Patriotic War : in November 1941 - June 1943 - the commander of the firing platoon of an individual mortar division of the 35th separate rifle brigade, in June-November 1943 - the commander of the battery of the 537th mortar regiment, in November 1943 - January 1944 - the platoon commander 559- go artillery regiment, in January 1944 - May 1945 - battery commander of the 368th light (from October 1944 - 368th cannon) artillery regiment.

He fought on the Western , 3rd Belorussian and 1st Ukrainian fronts. He participated in the Moscow and Rzhev battles, Smolensk , Vitebsk-Orsha , Vilnius , Kaunas , Sandomierz-Silesia , Lower Silesia , Berlin and Prague operations. During the war he was wounded four times.

Particularly distinguished during the Belarusian operation . June 23, 1944 in a battle south of the city of Vitebsk ( Belarus ) skillfully organized the fire of a battery, which destroyed several enemy firing points. On the night of June 24, 1944, along with the battery, he plunged 8 km into the enemy鈥檚 location near the village of Makarovo ( Vitebsk region of the Vitebsk region ), from where he controlled the fire of guns. He was wounded, but did not leave the battlefield. On July 2, 1944, one of the first to break into the city of Vilnius ( Lithuania ). In street battles he was seriously injured, but continued to control the fire of the battery until he lost consciousness.

For courage and heroism shown in the battles, by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated March 24, 1945, Captain Kurin Alexei Vasilyevich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal .

Since 1946, captain A.V. Kurin is in stock. Until 1981, he worked in trade.

He lived in Moscow . He died on June 24, 1995 . He was buried at Pyatnitsky cemetery in Moscow.
