Physico-geographical characteristics
The village is located 10 km from the regional center of Puchezh , 160 km from the regional center of Ivanovo .
Hydrology
The village is located on the banks of the Yachmenka River, one of the largest tributaries flowing into the Volga River Gorky reservoir ("Gorky Sea").
Natural features
The area around the village is wooded. There are birch, pine and mixed forests. Forests are rich in mushrooms, berries, game animals, and the river is rich in fish.
Ecology
The village and surrounding areas are ecologically clean areas with favorable recreational opportunities. There is no radiation background .
History
The village arose at the end of the 18th century.
Residents of the village were engaged in agriculture, timber rafting, manufacturing products at the construction plant, worked at the flax mill.
