Kenneth John Shellito ( Engl. Kenneth John Shellito ; April 18, 1940, London , England - October 31, 2018 , Sabah , Malaysia ), better known as Ken Shellito - English football player and coach, defender . He spent his entire playing career at the English club Chelsea . He coached football clubs Chelsea, Cambridge United and some clubs in Malaysia . Engaged in coaching at the Asian Confederation of Football .

Club career
Shelito began his football career at Chelsea Academy. At the age of 17, he made his debut for the main Chelsea team in a match against Nottingham Forest . Shelito was an important part of the team head coach Tommy Doherty to enter the First Division . The goal was met, Chelsea returned to the elite. In the 1964/65 season , Chelsea won the Football League Cup , but failed in the championship and FA Cup . However, Ken soon received a serious knee injury after which he began to appear on the field less and less and was forced to end his football career ahead of schedule.
Coaching career
After completing a career in 1969, Shelito entered the Chelsea coaching staff, heading his academy, and remained in that position until 1977. In the summer of 1977, he was appointed head coach of Chelsea, replacing his former teammate, Eddie McCready . He managed to keep Chelsea in the First Division in the 1977/78 season , but the highlight of his tenure was a 4-2 victory over the current European Cup winner Liverpool in the FA Cup. He left the club in less than a year, due to the fact that the club was in front of the relegation zone to the Second Division. He later coached Cambridge United , and then moved to Malaysia where he coached several clubs. Recently, he worked in the Asian Confederation of Football .
International Career
Shelito spent 1 match for England in 1963. He made his debut on May 29, 1963 against the Czechoslovak team in a friendly match, when England won with a score of 4: 2 [1] . Shelito was also in the England team against the world team , the game was timed to coincide with the centenary of the Football Association .
