Laos State - a state on the Indochina Peninsula, formed on the territory of the French Autonomous Protectorate of Laos, occupied by the Japanese Empire . It existed from April 1945 to October 1945 .

King of Luang Prabang Sisawang Wong was forced by the Japanese in April 1945 to declare independence of Laos . However, on August 15, 1945, Japan surrendered and Sisawang Wong expressed his desire to regain the status of a French protectorate. .
In October 1945, Sisawang Wong was ousted from power by the Lao Issar movement [1] , which proclaimed the country's independence and established a republican form of government in Laos .
