Khunchai is a national park in Thailand . It is located in the tombon of Mae Chedi Mai , an amphe of the Wuangpapao of Chiang Rai province. In 1995, it received the status of a “national park” due to its important water resources, vast forests, wildlife and beautiful waterfalls.

The park is located on the Chiang Rai - Chiang Mai highway. The national park includes 270 square kilometers and covers the highlands of Chiang Rai province, where magmatic and sedimentary rocks are present. Also in the park there is Lake Mei Chiang Hao.
Khunchae vegetation depends, as a rule, on height: from 300 to 800 meters, the forest consists of bamboo , from 800 to 1000 meters deciduous forests and dipterocarp plants; pine forest from 1000 to 1500 meters above sea level and evergreen forest above 1500 meters.
The national park is famous for its waterfalls :
- Khun Chae (six-level waterfall);
- "Mae Thi" (has seven levels, the highest level is 40 meters);
- “Khuai Sai Khao” (three levels of fall).
Wildlife is represented in various places in the park. So, you can see rare species of animals: white-breasted bear , thick loris , white-headed gibbon , Bengal cat , Sumatran serau , muntzhaki , teledu , tsvetta . Numerous bird species live in the park: gray drongo , fire-bellied long-tailed larva , brown fish owl , Turkestan tuvik , black-headed nuthatch , blue-winged flyer , banker jungle chicken and much more. From reptiles are found: bamboo keffiyeh , king cobra , skink , geckos .
