History
Hockey club "Dundee Stars" was founded in 2001. Already in the first season the club won the British National League, and in the next - the regular season silver. In the same season, the team reached the semifinals of the playoffs. In the third season, the club worsened its results. The 2004/05 season, all the Scottish teams in the league were unsuccessful. However, the Dundee Stars managed to win the playoffs of the British League. In the 2005/06 season, a scandal erupted over Scottish teams. The Edinburgh Capitals club was accepted into the British elite hockey league , but the Dundee Stars refused to play if the other Scottish team, Fife Flyers , were not allowed to compete. Due to the incompatibility of the ice arena in Kirkcaldy , the Flyers were denied entry. Then the clubs decided to enter the Scottish hockey league , as a result of which they had to dismiss all the legionnaires. The next year, Fife Flyers won the league, Dundee Stars became second with only three points behind. In the 2006/07 season, rules for the NHL type were introduced in the Scottish League in order to make possible the participation of foreign players in the league. Nevertheless, the Stars tried to develop their own youth school. At the end of April 2010, the club officially confirmed its participation in the British elite league .
