“ In the World of People ” is a Russian television program that aired on Channel One from January 19 to June 28, 2008 on Saturdays at 20:00, sometimes at 19:40 or 19:00. The program was led by Nikolai Drozdov , who had been conducting the program “ In the animal world ” for many years [5] .

Name Origin and Launch
According to the TV journalist Elkhan Mirzoyev, who worked in the program since April 2008, at first they wanted to call the program “easier and closer to the content” - “Tin” [6] . According to the initial idea, Bozena Rynska was supposed to conduct such a transfer [7] . Then they refused her candidacy for various reasons, and the Channel One special projects studio completely revised the concept of the program. As a result, Konstantin Ernst persuaded Nikolai Drozdov to become the host of the program [8] , and they decided to choose the name by analogy with another program that he also hosted on this channel - “In the World of People” [approx. 1] .
In his opinion, the need to launch the program on the air was directly related to the fact that the Saturday evening prime time of Channel One, which in those years consisted mainly of shows, concerts, feature films or feature films, was much inferior to projects over the past 3 years running in parallel at the same time on the NTV channel - “ Profession: Reporter ”, “ Maximum Program ”, “Russian Sensations” and “You Won't Believe It!” [6] .
The launch of the program was accompanied by a large-scale campaign on Channel One [9] : a video was shot and launched in which Nikolai Drozdov first appeared on the background of the jungle, and then found himself in modern Moscow on the background of the Big Krasnokholmsky bridge , saying that he had devoted his whole life studying the life of animals, their habits, behavior, instincts, relationships, and now decided to study the world of people, look at it from the height of past years and share their own experiences and impressions [10] .
TV Basics
During the program, several stories were shown about situations from life that occurred both with ordinary people and with stars [11] . As a rule, stories were associated with violence and cruelty. Nikolay Drozdov himself described the program as follows:
| And in the world of people, everything is much more complicated, dramatic. Sometimes you just have to look around you to see what we often close our eyes to, we don’t want to notice. And this program is about how difficult it is to remain a person in the world of people [approx. 2] . |
The first issue consisted of the following stories:

- “Torture in a golden cage. American Millionaire Against Russian Wife. ”
- “The double life of a national artist . How to share your beloved after death. "
Nikolai Drozdov himself watched all the plots for the first time during the TV show itself, and then shared his impressions with the audience [12] .
Criticism
The abundance of various atrocities in the plot of the program caused negative critical assessments:

| Now, at “First”, they have come up with a format that allows us to address the “horrors of our town”, that is, human life, but at the same time not go to extremes and maintain a reputation for a respectable channel. If the hosts of other similar programs openly relish these horrors, then Nikolai Nikolaevich, who watches them together with the audience for the first time, like any normal person, is shocked and shocked. But the horrors from this do not cease to be horrors, especially if they are shown in a naturalistic and detailed way. And the leader’s advice to find his way to the temple seems like an empty concussion in contrast to the helplessness and suffering of the child [13] . |

| Tell me - what is it? Does the program reporter have no idea about moral standards? Misunderstanding of what can and cannot be shown on the air? Lack of principle? I don’t know if Nikolay Drozdov is happy with such an acquaintance with the world of people. In any case, another plot from the last issue of the program could hardly give optimism to the views of the famous TV presenter on the human race [14] . |

| It seems that Nikolai Nikolayevich was assigned to ennoble yellow plots with his own person! Allegedly, he watches them for the first time with us. After which he gives his short assessment. I am generally silent about the stories - three out of five have already worked out NTV . For example, about the beaten Russian wife of a Hindu millionaire ("Oh, what to do? We must forgive!"). Or about the illegitimate child of Governor Evdokimov ("Who can condemn them?"). Moreover, it is clear that Uncle Kolya empathizes with the "people’s world", but for some reason he’s so embarrassed! And I seem to know why. This is not his format [15] . |
The program constantly moved over the broadcasting grid in the time slot of 19: 00-21: 00, withstood only a few issues, which were published from 1 to 3 times a month, and was soon closed, despite the fact that the performance of the latest programs was quite high in comparison with the similar project “Maximum Program”, which was aired on NTV channel [16] .
