Crater Walter ( lat. Walter ), not to be confused with Crater Walter ( lat. Walther ), is a tiny impact crater located in the southwestern part of the Sea of Rains on the visible side of the Moon . The name was assigned according to the German male name and approved by the International Astronomical Union in 1979. The formation of the crater refers to the nectar period [1] .

Crater Description
The immediate neighbors of the crater are the Diophantus crater in the southwest and the tiny craters Isabelle , Louise and Samir in the northwest. Further in the north-west are Diophantus furrow , Delil peak and Delille crater [2] . Selenographic coordinates of the center of the crater , diameter 1.3 km [3] , depth 0.13 km [1] .
The crater is a shallow decrease in terrain of irregular shape, the volume of the crater is approximately 0.04 km³ [1] . The crater got its own name only because it was marked on the phototopographic map 39B2S1 (25) [4] , subsequently the names on this map were approved by the International Astronomical Union.
