Biography

Born February 28, 1941 in the Komi Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.

Mother - Anna Sukhorukikh, Russian. In 1941, she married a political prisoner, repressed in 1937, a graduate of the Institute of Red Professors, Dagestan ( lak from Kumukh) Seid-Huseynov Asad Gazievich , who adopted him. Until 1953, as the son of an enemy of the people, he lived with his father in the Komi Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.

In 1958 he graduated from school in Krasnodar.

In 1958-1964 he studied at the Faculty of Medicine of the 2nd Moscow State Medical Institute. N.I. Pirogova .

From the first year he worked with the founder of modern transplantology V.P. Demikhov . On the proposal of V.P. Demikhov and the recommendation of the Scientific Council of the 2nd MGMI named after N.I. Pirogova was sent to study at the graduate school of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR , at the "Laboratory for Organ and Tissue Transplantation" to academician V.V. Kovanov .

In 1967 he defended his thesis on limb implantation .

From 1967-1970 he worked in practical surgery and cardiac surgery under Professor I. A. Medvedev.

Since 1970, he worked in the Department of Transplantology and Artificial Organs, VNIIKiEH Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR under Professor V. I. Shumakov . There, the development of the first domestic wearable and implantable dispensers was started. Together with B.V. Petrovsky , V.I. Shumakov and E.N. Vantsyan , the first pancreas transplant in the USSR was performed for a patient with diabetes mellitus, and then together with Yu.Andreev, R. A. Rutberg, V. I. Shumakov - the second in the world transplantation of a spleen to a patient with hemophilia A. Animal experiments were performed on transplantation of a donor and artificial heart, and on a liver transplant. At the same time, experiments were carried out on heterodialysis (purification of the dog’s blood from nitrogenous slag using a calf, which required the development of a special dialysis apparatus. Clinical work in the department was related to a kidney transplant. Together with V. I. Shumakov , E. Mogilevsky and V.E. Tolpekin performed the first in the world practice implantation of a patient with a complete artificial heart of Sukhoi's design with a complete replacement of the patient's unviable own heart.

In 1975-1983, he was the head of the Clinical and Experimental Department of Artificial Pancreas and Implantable Devices, created by order of B. V. Petrovsky at the Research Institute of Transplantology and Artificial Organs for the USSR-USA Artificial Heart Program (curated by G. Kissinger and A. Gromyko ).

The department had a clinical department, a group of specialists for animal experiments, an engineering group of developers, collaborating with enterprises of the military-industrial complex, which made it possible to implement any idea along the entire technological chain, from design development to application in the clinic for patients. Collaborated with the United States, Germany, East Germany and Canada in the field of new developments and methods of treating diabetes. Then the first in the world implantation of an insulin dispenser for a patient with diabetes was performed. For the first time in the USSR, the artificial pancreas “Biostator” was used to treat patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus, including patients with complicated and terminal forms. The development of the domestic apparatus was carried out. Using the “Biostator” , a kidney transplant was performed for a patient with diabetes mellitus with Kimmelstil-Wilson syndrome, a kidney and pancreas transplant were performed simultaneously, an insulin dispenser was implanted, and a kidney transplant was performed. The Biostar system was used simultaneously with the artificial kidney . A patient with diabetes with rhythm disturbances underwent implantation of a pacemaker and simultaneous implantation of a domestic insulin dispenser.

In 1979 he defended his doctoral dissertation "The first domestic experience in the development and clinical use of artificial endocrine pancreas for the treatment of patients with diabetes."

In 1980, based on previous developments, he conducted non-doping medical support for the USSR team at the Moscow Olympics . He was awarded the Medal for Labor Distinction.

In 1983, the department was liquidated for political reasons. 1983-1984 - unemployed.

In 1984−1987 - Head of the Department of Vascular Surgery Research Institute of Experimental and Clinical Orthopedics and Traumatology with Professor G. A. Ilizarov in the city of Kurgan. He used domestic electronic dispensers and Biostator systems in the treatment of various complications in orthopedic and traumatological patients. He provided surgical assistance to patients with various arterial and venous bleeding. He conducted angiographic and lymphographic studies with the use of dosing systems with the staff of the department. In an experiment on dogs, he applied a developed implantable system for prolonged arterial catheterization. In 1987, the Scientific Council of the Kurgan NIIEKOT of the Ministry of Health of the USSR awarded the first title of professor in the USSR in the specialty (140041) "Transplantology and artificial organs."

In 1987-1992, on the orders of the Ministry of Health of the USSR, he headed the “Problem Clinical and Experimental Laboratory of Electronic Dosage of Medicinal Substances” at the VNIIMT Ministry of Health of the USSR with a clinical base in the district hospital of Istra, Moscow Region. Financing of the laboratory was carried out on full cost accounting. For the first time, domestic portable and stationary dispensers and the Biostator system were used there for the treatment of terminal cancer patients, surgical and trauma patients, and patients with severe forms of diabetes. Clinical developments have ensured the introduction into practical healthcare of more than 80 thousand domestic serial dispensers, of which 20 thousand are paracorporeal (individual wearable) dispensers NDL-3 , including the first insulin dispensers (insulin pumps) in the USSR. In 1987, he led the medical engineering group that trained domestic and foreign specialists in the clinical use of domestic serial NDL-3 dispensers.

At the same time, he was the head of the state program “Means and Methods of Electronic Dosing for the Treatment of Cardiovascular, Oncological Diseases and Diabetes”, which was being created in the USSR, which was part of the general comprehensive program for the development of medical equipment, created on the initiative of the USSR Minister of Health, Academician E. Chazov I. ..

However, in the new economic conditions that developed in the country in the 90s, all work in this area was once again stopped. In search of financing for their continuation in 1990–2000, the United Arab Emirates developed, using modern transplantology methods, the technology of cultivating large pearls and created the Paragona Fujairah collection, which presented the first experience in cultivating Arabian pearls.

In 2002-2009 - Deputy Chief Physician of the Medical Center of the Russian Medical University. N.I. Pirogova. For private investments, research was carried out on the Russian insulin pump Demantoid and research on-OCD on the universal paracorporeal dispenser Artifor.

From 2009 to the present, he has been Deputy Director General of OAO ECRAN for the development and clinical use of artificial organs, Vice President of the Academy of Medical and Technical Sciences and head of the Department of Artificial Organs.

Author of more than 30 patents on artificial organs and more than 200 scientific publications.
