In the World Cup, Tauber made his debut on November 22, 1997 , in February 2006, the only one in the top three at the World Cup stage. In addition, he has in his account 3 hits in the top ten at the World Cup stages, 2 in team races and 1 in personal races. The best achievement of Tauber in the overall final standings of the World Cup is the 37th place in the 2005/06 season.
At the 2006 Olympics in Turin, he started in three races, a 15 km race in the classic style, skiing and relay, but his results were annulled due to the discovery of his doping.
