The airport was acquired by Portland Port in 1942 and until the 1950s served as an auxiliary for the nearest Portland International Airport. Trautdale Airport serves as a place for full-time permanent deployment of commercial air carriers, limited to several air carriers; a flight school and technical facilities for repair and maintenance of aircraft are assigned to it. It is also a popular destination for scenic air tours over the Columbia River Gorge Canyon and entertaining flights. [3]
His activities are sometimes limited or prohibited, because Portland International Airport's take-off or landing routes intersect directly above Troutdale Airport.
