David McVicar ( born David McVicar ; born 1966 [1] , Glasgow ) is a Scottish opera and theater director. He graduated from elementary school in Netherly and college in Williamwood. He studied acting at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, a 1989 graduate.

In 2007, The Independent named him among the 100 most influential gays and lesbians in the UK. [2] October 5, 2008 participated in the transfer of Desert Island Discs to the BBC [3] . In 2012, he was awarded the knighthood for his contribution to opera art [4] [5] [6] .
