Arthur Thomas Qwilleran-Kuch (in some sources Qwilleran-Coach , Qwilleran-Couch , Eng. Arthur Thomas Quiller-Couch ; November 21, 1863 - May 12, 1944 ) is a British writer.

He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University , a short time in the late 1880s. He taught there, then worked in London as a journalist, and in 1891 he settled in Cornwall , in the city of Foy, where he spent most of his life. From 1911 until the end of his life he was the chairman of the city yacht club. At the same time, from 1912 , Qwilleran-Kuch was a professor of English literature at the University of Cambridge .
He made his debut in literature at the turn of the 1880-1890s. a series of adventure novels, close to the style of Robert Louis Stevenson , also added the unfinished novel by Stevenson “Saint-Yves”. Later he wrote a number of novels from the history of Cornwall, collected in 1928 in a 30-volume collection of works. Qwilleran-Kuch also published several poetry collections, a book of French fairy tales in his own translation, many critical articles, prepared an academic edition of William Shakespeare's plays . However, the poetic anthology compiled by him is “The Oxford Book of English Verse” ( English Oxford Book of English Verse, 1250–1900 ), first published in 1900 , has the greatest significance in the Quiller-Kucha heritage, and when republished it was supplemented with materials 1918 : This book has remained the standard collection of classical English poetry for more than half a century.
Qwilleran-Kuch was a friend of Kenneth Graham and is believed to have served as a prototype for Uncle Krysi from the book Wind in the Willows [4] . Qwillera's daughter-Kucha Foy was Daphne Dumore 's girlfriend.
