Vladimir Valentinovich Tkachenko (born June 28, 1965 ) is a Soviet and Ukrainian swimmer , silver medalist at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul .

Biography
Vladimir Tkachenko was born in Cherkasy . In Kiev, L. Kapshuchenko began training with the USSR ZTR .
9-time swimming champion of the USSR:
- 100 m freestyle (3) - 1985, 1987, 1990
- relay race 4 × 100 m freestyle (2) - 1983, 1984
- mixed relay 4x100 (2) - 1987, 1988
- 50 m Freestyle (1) - 1987
- relay race 4 × 50 m freestyle (1) - 1988
He participated in six (1983, 1985, 1987, 1989, 1991, 1993) European Championships. Twice became the champion of Europe and twice a bronze medalist.
Bronze medalist at the World Championships in Perth, Australia, in the 4x100 relay.
At the 1988 Olympics, as part of the USSR team, he won silver in the relay. In the individual championship at a distance of 50 m he was the sixth freestyle.
In 1993, he stopped his career. But it continues to swim. He is the champion of Ukraine at a distance of 50 m butterfly in the age category of 45-49 years.
