Biography
From the nobles of the Saratov province. He graduated from the Saratov gymnasium , after which he entered the Physics and Mathematics Department of St. Petersburg University. Expelled for participating in student riots.
He was a member of the St. Petersburg circle of Staritsyn, then organized his own circle. He was an opponent of S. G. Nechaev [2] . December 28, 1869 was arrested in St. Petersburg and involved in the Nechaevsky process . He spent more than a year in prison in the Peter and Paul Fortress. On June 1, 1871, the special presence of the St. Petersburg Court of Justice was put on trial on charges of knowing that there was a conspiracy and not informing the government about it. On August 28, 1871 he was acquitted, after which strict covert police surveillance was established for him [3] .
He moved to Moscow, went to study at the Petrovsko-Razumovskaya Academy, took part in student unrest and was again expelled from the students [4] . He was a national teacher, arranged artels, at one time was a secretary of N. G. Chernyshevsky [4] . In the fall of 1871 he left for Sevastopol; then he lived as a home teacher in Sudak (Tauride province), where the bride Elizaveta Belyaeva also came. In November 1872, he went to Kharkov with her. In 1879 he lived in Vladikavkaz and was a private attorney [3] .
Having moved to the North Caucasus, he taught in Sochi and Maykop. He passed the test for the title of private attorney in Armavir and gained great fame as a practicing lawyer. He founded the Public Assembly, the Society for Mutual Credit, the Society for the Allowance for the Poor, legal advice in Armavir , facilitated the opening of 5 primary schools and a gymnasium [5] , a public library, an educational museum, and the Society for the Care of Children, which, with the active participation of Lunin, arranged the city outpatient clinic, nursery, pharmacy, bookstore and more. He made a lot of efforts to assign Armavir city status. He took a lively part in the construction of the first Orthodox church in Armavir, an overnight home for the homeless and the so-called Dovzhikova hospital [6] .
In 1905, Lunin organized rallies in Armavir. In October 1905, Luninβs house was burned during the pogrom, and Lunin managed to escape with difficulty. He left for Paris, and during his stay there he was nominated in absentia and elected to the first State Duma [7] .
Lunin was elected to the State Duma of the first convocation from the non-Cossack population of the Kuban region and the Black Sea province on May 27, 1906. He joined the Labor Group . One of its leaders. Secretary of the Commission for Civil Equality, member of the commission to draft a bill on meetings. He spoke about the draft law βOn Assembliesβ.
Chairman at joint meetings of the Trudoviks with members of the Social Democratic fraction of the State Duma in Vyborg . On July 10, 1906, he signed the Vyborg Appeal and was convicted under Art. 129, part 1, paragraphs 51 and 3 of the Criminal Code [4] , sentenced to 3 months in prison and deprived of the right to run for any elected office.
After serving his sentence, he returned to the North Caucasus. He continued his cultural work in Armavir, but on September 19, 1912 he was deported administratively outside the region [6] . He settled in Moscow and at the age of seventy he joined the list of students of the A. L. Shanyavsky Peopleβs University . He died on December 30, 1913 [8] .
After Lunin's death, his ashes were transported to Armavir and on the 40th day they were buried there with a large crowd of people [9] . The grave has not been preserved [6] .
Family
There is no information about children. Famous grandson Boris Vladimirovich Lunin (07/18/1906 - 10/18/2001) historian, academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences .
Granddaughter - Tatyana Vladimirovna Lunina, lived and worked in Rostov-on-Don, after marriage she changed her name to Chubuchenko . Her son Chubuchenko Yuri Vladimirovich (born in 1943), a well-known radio amateur (callsign RU6LC), as well as grandson of Chubuchenko Mikhail Yurievich (born in 1969) and granddaughter of Chubuchenko, Louise Yurievna (1971, now live in Rostov-on-Don) b.) .
