Biography
In October 1415, after the death of his father Philip of Burgundy , Count de Nevers, in the battle with the British at Agincourt, Charles inherited the counties of Nevers and Rethel. Under the young Charles, the regent in both counties was his mother Bonn d'Artois ( 1415 - 1424 ). The count himself was under the patronage of his cousin, the powerful Duke of Burgundy Philip III the Good ( 1419 - 1467 ), who in November 1424 married Bonn d'Artois, mother of Charles.
Count Carl de Nevers participated on the French side in the Hundred Years War with England , took part in the reconquest of Normandy ( 1449 - 1450 years ) and Guyenne ( 1451 - 1453 years ).
At the end of the reign of Philip the Good, Karl Neversky was suspected of witchcraft and an attempt to remove from the inheritance Karl the Bold, Count de Charolais , son of the Duke of Burgundy. Carl de Nevers was forced to flee to France.
In May 1464, Karl of Bungund, Count of Nevers and Retels, passed away. He was succeeded by the younger brother of Jean II ( 1464 - 1491 ).
