At the consistory of 1142, he was proclaimed cardinal bishop of the diocese of Albano . He participated in the election of the pope in 1143 ( Celestine II ), 1144 ( Lucius II ) and 1145 ( Eugene III ). [one]
He completed the restoration of the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere , begun by Innocent II.
