History
The first major international Thailand competition was the 1954 Asian Games basketball tournament. The team performed on it unsuccessfully, losing all 3 matches in the group and taking the last, 8th place [2] . At the Olympics in Melbourne, the team lost all the matches of both the preliminary and classification groups and took 15th place [3] . In 1962, the team took part in the IV Asian Games . This tournament ended for Thais more successfully than the previous ones: the Thai team took 4th place [4] .
The Thai team for the first time took part in the Asian Championship in 1963 and immediately took the 4th place, the highest in the continental championships in its history [5] . The team won 5 matches out of 11 in the tournament, in the match for 3rd place they lost to the South Korean national team with a score of 71:86 [6] . Two years later, at the 1965 championship, the situation repeated itself: the Thais again became fourth, again losing third place to South Korea [7] . The team's highest achievement was 2nd place at the 1966 Asian Home Games [8] . In the group, the Thais lost the Japanese team , and in the final they lost to the Israeli team - 42:90 [9] .
I have never participated in world championships .
