Biography
Rustam Salikhovich Suleymanov was born in 1977 in Sterlitamak ( Russia , Bashkiria ) to a family of musicians. He studied violin at the Secondary Music School-Lyceum in Ufa for gifted children. From childhood, he participated in music competitions, where he repeatedly became a laureate, is a scholar of the Russian program “New Names” (Moscow, 1991), twice a scholar of the republican branch of this program, a scholarship of the President of the Republic of Belarus (1994).
In 1995-2000 student of the Ufa State Institute of Arts (class of professor A. A. During his studies, he participated in international master courses in opera and symphony conducting by Professor Yu.I. Simonov, Professor, People’s Artist of the USSR (2002, 2004), and A. S. Kats, Professor, People’s Artist of the RSFSR (2003 g.).
In 2004, he conducted the opera by P. I. Tchaikovsky “Eugene Onegin” in the Opera Studio of the St. Petersburg State Conservatory.
In 2004-2008 - Guest Conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
The participant of the International Festivals of Academic and Symphonic Choral Music, collaborates with the Symphony Orchestras of Russia and with the Chamber groups of the Russian Federation, Germany and Italy. In 2004, after completing his studies in St. Petersburg, he returned to his native Ufa as a conductor (position under a training contract with the Ministry of Culture of Bashkortostan) to the National Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Together with this orchestra, he performed at the main concert venues of the Republic, prepared and conducted over 300 evening academic concerts with the orchestra, more than 820 performances for children and young people, created a large number of musical subscriptions and symphonic tales heard by children of all ages in the cities of the Republic.
In collaboration with the NSO RB, he wrote essays by Bashkir authors, among them: Z. Ismagilov, L. Ismagilova, A. Berezovsky, R. Sabitov, A. Khasanshin, S. Salmanov, etc. R. Suleymanov participated in international festivals with this group.
The leading music competitions in Ufa were held by the orchestra and conductor: the names of Nariman Sabitov and Zagir Ismagilov, which revealed a bright new constellation of young performers.
He is the first performer of many works of composers successfully working in Bashkortostan, such as:

He successfully held festivals of the Union of Composers of the Republic of Belarus. (Ufa, from 2004 to 2010)

The period of cooperation with the UGAI Student Symphony Orchestra and the UGAI Mixed Choir marked interesting projects within the walls of the Academy; with a high level of creativity and creativeness - Anniversary of Professor A. Shisman, Anniversary of the 40th anniversary of the Academy, and Concert in memory of the founder of the educational institution, Z. G. Ismagilov.
In 2009, he was invited to the post of Chief Conductor at the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater (Ufa, Belarus), where he conducted major performances from the theater repertoire: Salavat Yulaev Z. Ismagilova, Aida, Rigoletto and Traviata ”G. Verdi,“ Iolanta ”and“ Eugene Onegin ”by P. Tchaikovsky,“ Don Juan ”and“ The Magic Flute ”by W. A. Mozart,“ The Snow Maiden ”by N. Rimsky-Korsakov,“ Carmen ”by G. Bizé,“ Chio -chio-san ”by G. Puccini,“ Prince Igor ”by A. Borodin and others.
He prepared and performed for the season 2009-2010. Gala concerts, Nureyev Ballet Festival (annual), the Opera Festival. Chaliapin (annual), where the opera troupe, ballet troupe, choir were represented most extensively; the anniversaries of the main choirmaster of the theater E.Gaifullina, the anniversaries of I.Gaziev, Y.Abdulmanov and others were successfully held. And also the author’s project “Christmas concerts”, where for the first time Ufa performed “Magnificat” and clavier concert (D minor) Y S. Bach, also a number of government events with the participation of soloists, choir and orchestra, such as the Days of Culture of the Republic of Bashkortostan in Moscow in April 2012, where he was the Musical Director of the gala concert.

In December 2011, he received an invitation to lead the National Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Since January 2012 - Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of this orchestra.
Based on the aforementioned collective, he restored the activity of the Chamber Orchestra "Bashkiria" (laboratory of performance of ancient music, composers of the 16-18 centuries).
