Sergeant Bertrand is the fifth (third of the distributed ) studio album of the Sverdlovsk rock band April March , released in 1994 as a CD . The name of the album was given by the song, the name and text of which, in turn, was inspired by the “ case of Sergeant Bertrand ”. One of the most popular albums of the group. All the songs included in the album were prepared in the late 1980s, but then they were not recorded in the studio - they were only performed by the group at concerts (in particular, the concert performance of the song “Sergeant Bertrand” in 1989 included the compilation of the 4th festival of the Sverdlovsk rock club ).

History
By the time the album was recorded from the band, guitarist Sergey Chernyshev was fired. The reason for the dismissal was his non-participation in a concert in Chelyabinsk . After that, Valery Kostyukov, a veteran of the rock movement in Sverdlovsk and the region, joined the squad, but did not stay long. In parallel with the departure of Kostyukov, bassist Sergey Eliseev left the group, the place of the latter was taken by Sergey Amelkin. As a result, the musicians of various friendly groups were invited to the studio: Viktor Kovrizhnykh, Evgeny Pisak, Vadim Samoilov , Nikolai Petrov , Nikolai Grigoriev. Only Samoilov did not appear on the recording, as a result of which the guitar parts on the compositions intended for him were performed by Petrov.
The title song of the album was previously recorded for the “Wormwood Star” magnetic album, which was not widely used.
A separate story happened with the cover of the album: originally, it should have depicted a nude female torso with a rose in a causal place . However, later this version of the cover had to be abandoned - it was planned to be printed in the UAE .
