Biography
August Vasilievich Scharbe was born in the city of Libenau in Lower Lausitz in 1790 [1] ).
Having received a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Wittenberg in 1813, Scharbe devoted himself to teaching and in the 1820s was the director of the gymnasium in Sarau (in Prussia). On December 22, 1832, the Council of Kazan University elected Sharbe an ordinary professor in the department of Roman literature and antiquities, which he held for ten years. State Counselor (1840) [2] . In 1843, due to illness, he retired. He lived and died in Kazan.
A.V.Scharbe is the author of a number of works on classical philology in German, published when he was director of the school in Sarau. In Russian, he published in Kazan in 1856, "Classical Philology."
In 1857, he was introduced with his family to the 3rd part of the genealogy book of the Kazan province [3] .

- Romund Avgustovich - director of schools in the Penza province
- Bacon Augustovich - doctor
- Ebengard Augustovich - Optometrist [4]
