Altynomel ( kaz. Altynomel ) is a village in the Kerbulak district of the Almaty region of Kazakhstan . The administrative center of the Altynomel rural district. The KATO code is 194633100 [1] . It is located in the tract Koshentogan in the foothills of the Dzungarian Alatau , in the upper reaches of the Baigazy and Dos rivers, originating from the mountains Altynamel and Matai . In Altynomel, C. Valikhanov spent the last years of his life (1855-1865), and here he is buried. In connection with the 150th anniversary of the scientist’s birth in 1985, a historical and memorial museum was opened in the village.

Population
In 1999, the village population was 1031 people (511 men and 520 women) [2] . According to the 2009 census , 1040 people lived in the village (504 men and 536 women) [2] .
