Peak of Heroes-Panfilovtsev [1] (also Peak of Guards-Panfilovtsev ) is a peak in the Maloalmatinsky gorge of Zailiysky Alatau , located in the mountains of Azutau, the western branch of the Small Almaty spur. The highest point of the peak is 4120 m. It connects with two peaks, in the east with a snow ridge from Karlytau , in the west with the peak Uchitel and the pass of the same name. The southern slope of the peak is full of steep rocky outcrops, lobbies and scree. The northern snow-ice slope of the peak faces the Bogdanovich glacier. The western and eastern slopes are gentle and in places without ice. In the Soviet years, at the peak of Heroes-Panfilovtsev, mountaineering training and sports competitions were held. For the first time, the peak was conquered in 1942 by a group of cadets of the All-Union School of Mining under the guidance of master of sports Alexei Maleinov. The peak was named after the 28 Panfilov Guards [1] [2] .
