Career

At the 1950 World Championships in Lake Placid, he won a bronze medal in the 18 km race, losing 41 seconds to silver medalist Swede Enar Yosefsson and only 1 second defeating Finnish fourth-time August Kiur . In addition, at that championship, he became 14th in the 50 km race.
