The composition of the City Garden includes:

On the map of urban planning zoning, the territory of the city garden is included in the boundaries of the archeological monument, which is called the "Cultural layer of the city of Kurgan of the 17th-19th centuries" [1] .
History
In place of the current City Garden, the first city-wide cemetery in Kurgan was laid down in 1786 when designing the first plan for regular development. In 1860 , it was decided to close the cemetery, which turned out to be in the ring of dense urban development, and to establish the City Garden in its place, however, having built a cemetery church.
In the western part of the City Garden, Horse Square was located. In July 1895, the Kurgan City Duma decided to choose a place for the construction of the Alexander Nevsky Church on Konnaya Square, in the middle, on the back side of the cemetery fence, so that the altar would go out to the cemetery, and the church building should go to the square. Horse Square was called Alexander Square. In 1919 it was renamed Uritsky Square. Victims of the counter-revolution of the time of the White Bohemian coup of 1918 , the Kolchak government and the kulak uprising of 1921 are buried in mass graves in the square. In early April 1921, at the insistence of the city communal authorities, the burial in the mass grave “due to its overflow” and “insecurity in the sense of protecting residents from epidemiological diseases” were stopped. On November 7, 1921, an obelisk was opened on the mass grave, constructed according to the design presented by the 206th regiment.
In June 1924, the Kurgan City Council decided to organize a central garden park near mass graves, combining kindergartens: the former Gogolev School, the Moscow Society of Agriculture and the Alexander Cemetery. In 1930, the obelisk was transferred to the main alley of the city garden. Subsequently, an amusement carousel was arranged on genuine graves [2] (they stopped working in the 1990s and were dismantled).
In Soviet times, the City Garden was named after V.I. Lenin .
In the pre-war period, the newspaper “Krasny Kurgan” published special coupons for visiting performances held in the summer theater of the city council. At the same time, they played the role of a newspaper poster, they were indicated the name of the play, the genre of presentation, its beginning, and the general program of the evening (dancing, mass walks). And also in each issue it was reported that a brass band plays in the city garden in the evenings [3] .
Since May 1, 1959, the Rodina summer cinema (designed for 600 people) has been operating in the city garden. Cinema was shown until the early 90's. The building burned down in a fire on May 26, 2001.
August 15, 1969, at the site of the actual burial of the commissioners, designed by sculptor S.A. Goloshchapov and architect G.A. Zakharov built a memorial complex in memory of the fallen for Soviet power.
In 2004, the design organization LLC AS developed a project for the reconstruction of the city garden. This project was agreed by the Town Planning Council (Minutes No. 2018 dated September 28, 2004) [4] .
The land plot on which the city garden is located was leased in April 2004. The lease expiration date is April 2053. The lessee is Kurgan-Park LLC. The rent amounted to 776.8 thousand rubles. Kurgan-Park LLC began the reconstruction of the city garden: a Ferris wheel and other attractions were installed. In September 2011, rents are reduced and amounts to 64 thousand rubles [5] .
