Biography

Secondary education in the second Kazan gymnasium, higher education - in Kazan University, where he graduated from the course in May 1897. On August 2 of the same year, it was left at the university for a period of two years, in preparation for a professorship. August 2, 1899 sent for a scholarly purpose abroad, for a period of one year. Upon returning to Kazan and after reading the test lectures, on January 2, 1901 he defended his thesis for a master’s degree in Slavic philology. In the years 1901-1904 He was instructed to teach the history of Slavic literatures.

December 2, 1917 was elected a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences, specialization: Slavic philology.

He died in Kazan on February 6, 1921.
