Sky Girls ( ス カ イ ガ ー ル ズ Sukai Ga: Rudzu , Heavenly Girls) is an initially short OVA series lasting 30 minutes [1] , released jointly by Konami and JCStaff on August 25, 2006 . Later, the same studios released an anime series, which was broadcast on Chiba TV from July 5, 2007 to January 11, 2008 . In total, 26 anime episodes were released. Based on the series, a manga by Eichi Ozeki was released. According to data from January 30 - February 5, 2008, the Sky Girls series took 4th place in the list of best-selling anime on DVD editions in Japan [2] .

Story
The action takes place in 2084, the earth was almost completely devastated by the so-called alien creatures WORM (Weapon Of Raid Machines). Three young female pilots driving giant exoskeleton robots will find out that they have become the chosen ones and now they have to save the Earth from complete destruction.
Character List
- Otokha Sakurano ( 桜 野 音 羽 Sakurano Otokha )
- The main character of the story, expertly wields a sword. Originally from the island where her parents hold a dojo . A very cheerful and naive girl, but she becomes cruel if Ryohey says indecent things, at the same time nourishes love for him. Otoha has a cousin who once disappeared, sitting on a rock, after the appearance of an unusual light. He appears in the last series, at an unchanging age, stating that he is a WORM envoy. Her Sonic diver is called Reijin, Otoha herself calls him Zero.

- Eika Ichijo ( Jap. 一条 瑛 花 Ichijo: Eika )
- One of the main characters, has fast reflexes and good stamina. He has the best experience in driving a robot and always demonstrates the best results among pilots. For this reason, was put at the head of the pilot team. At first she was very distrustful of the others, but later made friends with other girls. She has a very serious character, is a typical tsundere .
- Seiyu: Shizuka Ito
- Karen Sonomiya ( Japanese. 園 宮 可憐 Sonomiya Karen )
- One of the main characters, her IQ is 170 and she specializes in mechanics. She graduated from university at 16. He is very embarrassed when next to the guys and therefore can not communicate normally with them. In love with Takumi. He regularly writes letters to his older brother, who works in a neighboring base.

- Former combat pilot who defended Jin Hizaki in a previous war with WORMamai, but can no longer fly. Now he commands the 13th Sonic Squadron Diver.
